About This Quote
The words “nihilism” and “atheism” are often used as synonyms for “unbelief.” However, I believe that this is a mistake. Nihilism and atheism (the philosophies that adopt these ideas) aren't the same thing. The atheistic view that there is no God is often called “nihilism,” but this isn't right. Nihilism says that all values are equally meaningless.
But this doesn't mean that all things are equally meaningless! It just means that nothing matters. This is a dangerous position to take. The point of this quote is to show how I came to reconsider my earlier atheism and nihilism after taking a closer look at life and other people's perspectives on the world.
